The Terroir event in Prince Edward County is one of the best value wine events you can attend in Ontario. This year, I was asked to post a series of blogs leading up to the event on May 3rd. I realized that I would have a hard time finishing 10 posts over the next several weeks so I called upon my friend and fellow wine blogger Krista Lamb to share the duties with me. Krista willingly jumped in and already has her first post up on Devil’s Wishbone Winery.
If you are thinking about attending, here’s my top 5 reasons to attend Terroir in the County on May 3rd!
- Many of the wineries in PEC are represented, and it is a great way to sample their new 2013 releases!
- Unlike other events where you need to purchase tickets, this is a single fee tasting event. Your admission ticket ($35 advance) includes all wine samples, seminars, demonstrations, complimentary cheese and one food item per guest.
- Centrally located in the gorgeous Crystal Palace, the event is walking distance to many accommodations and restaurants in Picton.
- This is one of the best chances to meet with the winemakers and winery owners (often the same person) from such an array of wineries.
- There is always an interesting range of presenters/speakers.
I attended Terroir and blogged about it in 2011 (multiple posts) and I presented with a panel in 2013 (click the links for more info on past events). Accommodations get snapped up quickly in the County, so make your decision soon if you want to make a weekend out of it!
