2010 Hinterbrook Riesling

When I first read about Hinterbrook and their initial releases (whites for now) I was intrigued. By luck I happened to see their tweet when the store went live and ended up as their first customer! Here’s the review of the 2010 Riesling:

Fantastic nose of sweet stone fruit and honey has secondary elements of mineral and a tiny bit of petrol. First sensation on the tongue is a fruity sweetness which is almost immediately whisked away by the lemon-citrus acidity. Wonderfully balanced wine which should age nicely.

12.4% Alcohol, $18. Available only at the winery (opening May 7th) or online.

Well I guess we were both on to something…this wine took second place in Rieslings at the CuvĂ©e awards last weekend!
