UPDATE: Happy to announce that Mark Glover is the winner of the overnight stay at Among the Vines B&B/DiProfio Wines!
Among the Vines Bed & Breakfast is Part 2 of the Joe & Carollynn retirement plan. Part 1, was of course, the winery – Di Profio Wines. Folks that know me recall that Debbie and I have stayed with these fine folks about 5 times now. It’s a place I have fondly called (and wrote about here) “My Second Home in Niagara”.
I realized that we have been stopping there since before the new winery was built, when Joe pointed out the spot in the field where the winery would go after showing us the blueprints for the winery-to-be. It seems a long time, yet it really is not so long ago. In fact, we were just there again this weekend, enjoying a wonderful stay as we passed through Niagara.
So why do I keep returning to this B&B when there are so many others in the region? Here’s my short list:
Great People – we love chatting with Carollynn and Joe – about the B&B, the winery, life, the region, the weather. Just super nice folks to talk with and find out the latest about family, ferments, harvest, the weather, or running a B&B.
Location, location, location – ideally situated just outside of Jordan Station, they are close to many of the “Bench” wineries we love to visit. Also walking distance into Jordan Station if you want to dine at Inn on the Twenty and walk home.
Spotless – the place is beautifully kept, clean, and tidy. There’s ample common space and decent sized rooms to escape to.
The Food – oh, the food! Breakfast at Among the Vines never leaves one wanting. In fact, it is sometimes difficult to get up from the table (well that’s my excuse of why we always stay chatting for so long afterwards).
The Wine – we absolutely love the small, family-owned wineries that make up most of Ontario’s wine country. Staying at a B&B located right at the winery allows for some extended inspection of vines and winery equipments that you might not have the chance to do elsewhere. And sitting on the upper deck of the winery looking out over the vineyards would be a great way to end any day in wine country.
So Wine Country Ontario and I both want you to share in this experience. As part of their 12 Days of Wine Country Ontario (#12DaysWCO) contest, they have graciously purchased a package from Among the Vines and Di Profio wines that includes one night stay in the fabulous Gamay Suite (with it’s massive four-poster bed and private bathroom, including jacuzzi tub), breakfast the next morning (of course) and a winery tour and tasting. Retail value of this package is $150.
